An oversized jack plug occupied the forecourt of the Upper Austrian Architecture Forum in Linz. The cable connected the outside of the building with the inside. The humming and vibrations emitted from the plug were transformations of the frequencies of the square, its buildings and the overhead wiring. These stimuli acted as a network of antennas, supplying the haptic and auditory information to the contact pads of the jack plug. Acting as a catalyst, it generated the acoustic subtext or soundtrack of the hidden ensemble and made it perceptible. By connecting sound with the architecture of the square, the jack formed an open interface. Through its size and placement, the jack spoke of the importance of this method of operation.
