Reinhard Gupfinger is an Austrian contemporary artist specializing in sound art, sculpture, and urban art. His artistic practice focuses on exploring the perception and manipulation of acoustic space. Gupfinger’s work aims to challenge the boundaries between hybrid sound art, sculpture, and technology, fostering awareness of the sonic environment. Amongst other recognitions, he has received the State Prize for Media Art, Arts Division of the Federal Chancellery of Austria (2021), and the Award of Excellence for his dissertation from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research (2020).
Reinhard Gupfinger is a senior artist and post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Fine Arts & Design at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, where he teaches in the context of sculpture and digital media.
